I'm sorry to hear about your son. You can't put a price tag on what these young soldiers do for us and the personal sacrifices they and their families make.
While an emergency fund is important, I don't know if the typical family can realistically save enough money for something like that.
I really wish our gov's would bear more/all of the expense when someone comes home with an injury like that.
