SIGN UP RIGHT NOW! Resisting Sales Pressure

When my husband and I were first married, we were invited to a "buying club" in our city. We were young, and oh, so dumb. The premise was for a "mere $1,000.00" we would be allowed to catalog shop! We were just stumped at what to do (this was before the days of the internet, mind you). We were told that we had to decide right then, and right there. We froze. We went for it!

Oh, brother. The thing is, we learned a major lesson!

Now we have implemented our own "house rule". We cannot buy anything without a "24-hour" cooling off period. This keeps us from getting back in that boat again!!!

Great advice!

I can remember a guy demonstrating a Kirby vaccuum cleaner at our home.

He had clearly followed Sales School 101, because one after the other he shot off benefits disguised as questions anyone in his/her right mind could only answer yes to.

Until that final question... do we have a deal?

No.

He was stumped. He was used to getting a yes. What to do now? But, as you, we vowed to never decide anything major while "on the spot".

No regrets!
